Pink Caravan offers free cancer screenings to hundreds of Emiratis

Free cancer screenings have been offered to more than a thousand Emiratis during the annual eight day Pink Caravan horse ride that is currently touring the UAE.

The key message of early detection and treatment of cancer remains at the core of the event, with several stops along the way of the 152km horseback tour so far.

Analysis of those checked showed a total of 563 people were medically examined on day eight in Dubai. The clinic at the Indian School received 287 people, while Al Mizhar Healthcare Centre offered free examinations to 85 people. A mobile mammography clinic at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority received 51 people. The medical booth at Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah received 63 people, while the United Medical Centre received 77 people, and it was extended to one more day due to the huge turnout.

In just eight days of the tour, the total number screened for cancer was 4,422.
